Southport Community Independents

On Saturday 1st March over 200 people gathered in the Valhalla event centre to hear Jeremy Corbyn, Andrew Feinstein, Sean Halsall and Molly Shelton (from Assemble) speak. It was the launch of Southport Community Independents  - a new party. 

SFoP held a stall at this event and many people stopped to talk, buy items and seek information. 

Jeremy Corbyn also visited the mosque prior to the event to speak to the members. 

Jeremy spoke about the London monthly protests and marches for Palestine. He has attended every one. Andrew spoke about how the global arms trade is ruining the world. 

Many of us came away from the event feeling more hopeful and inspired to continue resisting the government’s support for Israel and to strongly protest apartheid and the genocide in Gaza.
