Israel Banned Toys & Nappies from Gaza
Below is a quick timeline on the restrictions that Israel has placed on Palestinians, this article does not cover everything.
Early 1990s
Checkpoints placed all over Palestine are staffed by Israeli Military or Border Police.
Israel had already been limiting the movement of goods and people between Gaza and the West Bank at least since the early 1990s.
2007 - 2010
These are some of the items Israel banned from Gaza;
The Israeli military commissioned its own internal study determining the minimum number of calories Palestinians would need to avoid malnutrition.
2018
More than 1,000 basic commodities were again banned from entering Gaza;
2022
Only 36% of exit requests to receive medical treatment outside Gaza through the Erez crossing were approved at the beginning of 2022. The criteria for approving these requests are unknown and the grounds for rejection are never disclosed.
October 7th 2023 - Now
Gaza’s borders, airspace & seafront are still blockaded by Israel & Egypt.
Since October 7th, the blockade has become nearly total. Restrictions to food and basic supplies now threaten the very survival of Gaza’s civilian population.
